Description

The Base Media Server lies at the heart of your digital home.  At it's simplest, it's an on-demand jukebox for thousands of movies, albums and other media content. This content could be coming from the Base's silent and speedy SSD hard-disk. Or it could be on a high-capacity, protected NAS drive, or even from an online streaming-content provider such as Spotify, Last.fm, Youtube and others.

All DF Solutions Servers are designed from their very core to be usable by all members of the family, from the very young to the very old. Therefore there are no blinkered 'chess-board' style Movie Libraries, no fussy and complicated menu-structures. Everything is visual. From spinning discs to indicate the currently playing CD, to fan-effects denoting box-set compilations.

Audio Serving

Browsing your audio libray is quick, convenient, fun and reliable. And with innovative and convenient ways in which you can do things like create and build playlists, you will find your Base becoming a regular and useful part of your home.

Movie Serving

The Base does away with the concept of browsing media files and directories, as seen on cheap media-streamers. The Base integrates movies and video from multiple NAS devices into 1 coherent and simple to use Movie Library.  The Base automatically downloads cover-art, backdrops and movie reviews for content that it finds, meaning that you just have to do 1 thing... watch! The Base can playback DVDs and video-clips, all from HDD and networked NAS devices. This means you can have instant access to thousands of videos without the need to buffer/stream, and with NO loss of quality.

The TV Experience

DF Solutions products present content in a 3D-view, so that you can see hundreds of covers on-screen at any 1 time, yet not sacrifice clarity of the content you're currently highlighting. Audio Content is also enrichened with indepth information such as Album and Artist editorials, together with pictures of the artist, and the ability to quickly browse their discography.

Content Storage

The Base is designed for open and simple integration with 1 or more Ethernet NAS devices.  This results in a scalable solution that can grow as your content library does. We strongly encourage you to use a NAS device for peace of mind and redundant data-protection of your vital home-movies and pictures, as well as all your other media content. 

Streaming Client

Your Base does so much more besides being a movie and audio server. You can access Spotify, Last.FM, check weather forecasts, browse Flickr slideshows, watch YouTube videos, access RSS feeds and read news-articles, all from a single interface. With more internet services coming on-line all the time, the Base is a 1-stop portal to the internet.
